Our Credit Union was chartered on February 5, 1954 under the name Watertown Faculty Federal Credit Union. On November 9, 1981 the charter was changed to include the employees of the Watertown School District and family members of the Watertown School District employees. The name was changed to Watertown Educational Employees Federal Credit Union. In September of 2000, we recieved approval from the National Credit Union Administration to add the following schools to our charter. Castlewood, Grant/Deuel, Florence, Great Plains Lutheran, Henry, South Shore, St. Martins Lutheran, and Waverly.
Because of these additions the name was changed to Glacial Lakes Educational Employees Federal Credit Union. Currently we have in excess 260 members with assets totaling more than $1,100,000.00. GLEEFCU is a share and loan Credit Union. It is a non-profit Credit Union that is owned by its members.
Profits go back to the members in the form of dividends.
